"Silicon Forest" Year 10 Technology Trip

Students have a fantastic experience at the launch even for "Silicon Foest" technology initiative. (STEM Pathways - 15/10/2015)

Toot Hill School was invited to attend the launch of "Silicon Forest", a new and exciting regional initiative to promote and support the use of cutting edge ICT in Business and Education.  The event was a huge success with notable highlights including a keynote speech from the Gadget Show presenter Jason Bradbury, programming Raspberry Pi microcomputers and hearing businesses explain how they are adapting and implementing the latest technology in the real world.

The ten year 10 students that secured a place on the trip were extremely positive about the opportunity and represented Toot Hill with distinction, asking intelligent questions to the panelists and exhibitors and even volunteering to go up on stage and accept a challenge from one of the speakers.

The Silicon Forest initiative looks set to be an ongoing opportunity and so we will be looking forward to seeing what opportunities will be available for Toot Hill and it's students in the future.
