STEM micro:bit club - After school club starting every Wednesday after half term
Towards the end of year 7 last year, all students were given a pocket programmable computer called a BBC micro:bit. This is a fantastic device which all of our current year 8s have to keep. However rather than just leave students to it we are giving them the opportunity to bring their micro:bit back in and use it, not just to control the switches and lights that are built in, but also to drive motors, buggies, buzzers and other electronic circuits.
Whether they’ve already got to grips with it or if they've never even had a go, they are invited to come along, find out more and see where there imagination can take them.
There are 16 places for year 8 on this after school club every Wednesday 15:30-16:30 until Christmas (starting Wednesday 2nd November).
If year 8 students are interested they must put their name down on the SIGN-UP sheet on the DT5 Door as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. (places will be allocated on a first come first served basis)
We're looking forward to seeing what ideas and skills our year 8s have got and hopefully see what these little devices are really capable of!
