Exam Board: OCR

This qualification is designed for students aged 14–16 who wish to develop applied knowledge and practical skills in using information technologies.

In this qualification, you will also have the opportunity to improve your knowledge of the digital environment and confidence with IT. You will learn about data management issues and develop practical skills by planning and creating an integrated technological solution to communicate information.

There are two mandatory topics:

1. Understanding tools, techniques, methods and processes for technological solutions
2. Developing technological solutions

This course gives you the opportunity to progress onto other related study, such as qualifications in IT, Digital Media and Computer Science.

50% examination

50% controlled assessment tasks
