  • Year 10 Information Evening takes place Tuesday 21st March, please check your email to see what time your session is at.
  • Year 11 Information Evening takes place on Thursday 23rd March , please see Year 11 section for times.
  • Thank you for all your donations for Red Nose Day today. There is still time to donate your £1 via Scopay for this worthy cause.

During tutor this week, we dedicated some time to looking at attendance, as individuals, as well as, in tutor set groups and as a whole year group. Students have set themselves targets to improve as a group for the following week and we are excited to see who the winners will be!

As always, many more Year 7 students are achieving their bronze, silver and gold badges. FAB Friday will be dedicated to announcing and presenting students that have reached this exciting achievement.

Tuesday was the Red Nose Day assembly. Year 7 students were all very excited to wear their non-uniform and donate to charity on Friday 17th in order to raise money for such an important cause.

Please help to support students at home by checking they have all of the basic items needed for school in their bag including planner, stationary, PE kit etc as well as wearing a coat during the cold weather.

Below are some exceptional examples of Year 7 French and Philosophy and Ethics work!

This week Year 8 were with their tutors on Monday looking at their credits and attendance, previously tutors had shared figures with students showing if they were present every day up until the Easter holidays what their attendance figure could be and we hope this has added some motivation to discussions regarding attendance.

On Tuesday tutors delivered a presentation and video in preparation for Comic Relief on Friday plus a little uniform check if there was time.  We have noticed that some students have started to appear wearing earrings or trainers rather than shoes so tutors may make contact to maintain our high expectations surrounding our uniform policy.

We hope students managed to fit in some work on Class Charts during Wednesday and Thursday's strike action then Friday we celebrated Comic Relief with a really successful non-uniform day.

Tuesday was World Mathematics Day and the Maths department set challenges during every lesson including a challenge to remember the most decimal places of Pi!  Well done to our two winners Georgia and Leo. We also had a boy’s football quarter final game in some testing weather conditions on Tuesday after school.  The boys managed to win 3-2 scoring a last gasp winner to get through to the semi-final. Thank you to the two students who braved the weather to support the team.

We now have over 200 students signed up to the Walesby overnight trip and we are really excited to confirm places this week and move on with our planning.

Well done Year 9. We have seen lots of fantastic work this week. In History Year 9 have been studying the history of migration and the building of the empire. Students have been working hard to complete extended writing in History using the subject knowledge learnt in lessons. In English students are currently studying their first GCSE content where they are focusing on power and conflict poetry in their anthology. This week students have been introduced to the power Charge of the Light Brigade by Alfred Lord Tennyson. Students have discussed his views on the Crimean war. A special mention to 9H3 English who were showing great levels of focus with their classwork.

During tutor set this week, students have spent time reflecting on the 9.2 School Reports. On Monday morning we focused on Home Learning and shared strategies to support students with planning a schedule to complete Home Learning. We are pleased to share that 80% of the year group have an average Home Learning score of 4 or above. Well done Year 9. We are also continuing to focus on attendance in tutor set. Next week students will review their attendance percentage against their target for the Easter break. All students who achieve their target attendance will be recognised in the end of term Achievement Assembly.

Finally thank you to the Level 1 Sports Leaders who led at the Primary School Sports Festival on Tuesday evening. We have received positive feedback from the Primary Schools who attended and we are proud of how well our Level 1 Sports Leaders represented the school. Well done!

Keep up the fantastic work Year 9!

Year 10 have shown great resilience and maturity this week following the extensive damage to the school building, particularly during their lunchtimes. Their calm response to the change in lunchtime arrangements and consideration of their younger peers in moving around the school (whilst it feeling a lot 'busier' than usual) has been a fantastic reflection of our PRIDE values of responsibility and empathy.

Additionally, it was great to see everyone raising funds for Comic relief today by donating a £1 for non-uniform. Please donate on Scopay if you haven't done so already.

In lessons this week, the Year 10 Cambridge National sports students have been working hard to plan their practical sessions which they will lead with KS3 classes next week. This forms part of their assessment towards their overall GCSE grade. We have been impressed with the engagement and focus with this task and look forward to seeing them in action next week.
