Year 11 BTEC Hospitality Catering Event

BTEC Hospitality Event

 

Toot Hill School’s Year 11 BTEC Hospitality group successfully organised and hosted a three course Contemporary World Food lunchtime event for 16 teachers on 7th February. The event was the final outcome of weeks of hard work which involved the development and designing of the menu, organising the table settings and practising making the products which would be served on the day. Pupils were also assessed on their performance as part of their coursework. Dishes that were served included seafood risotto, fajitas, burros with chocolate sauce and Italian trifle. The feedback from the ‘customers’ was really positive and included the following comments:

‘I have thoroughly enjoyed this event. The skills your team have displayed in producing the food and organising this event are amazing. I am very proud of you all!’ Mrs Paley

 ‘It was a privilege to eat such an amazing three course meal. Every dish was well presented and the tastes were truly Italian and glorious.’ Mr Tomasevic
